The Tin-Roofed Palace - Exhibition of Oriental Rugs

The tapestry collection was gathered by the founder Teresa Sahakian (1915–2007), a Pole living in Belgium. The rugs have been on display in the Tin-Roofed Palace since 1990. The current exhibition Collection Revisited. Oriental Rugs from the Collection of the Teresa Sahakian Foundation was launched in 2008, after a general overhaul of the Palace. The objects on show represent four leading centres of tapestry art: Persia, Anatolia, Central Asia and – the largest set – Caucasus.
